Most cardboard can be recycled such as paperboard, boxes, plates, tubes but contaminated boxes with oil or grease cannot be made into a high-quality cardboard.

Why should you recycle cardboard in Hammond?

Cardboard recycling in Hammond, Indiana is environmentally friendly because it reduces landfill space, saves oil, and saves trees. To make one ton of cardboard, it requires three tons of wood, think about that. Three tons of a natural product to make one ton of a man-made product. This is the number one reason your Hammond business should be recycling cardboard waste, recycling cardboard waste produces new cardboard and saves trees. A single cardboard fiber can be recycled seven times, but you cannot recycle cardboard forever because the paper fibers get shorter every time.
